WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week marks one year since the deadly Amtrak derailment in Philadelphia. On Wednesday, United States Senator Bob Casey will ask Congress to increase funding for Amtrak. During the conference call, Casey will ask his fellow lawmakers to fund grants to Amtrak at the President’s FY17 request of $1.9 billion. Casey’s office says the money would go toward continuing the current service and addressing capital investment needs.
