NEW YORK — A Philadelphia train conductor saved a 3-year-old girl who fell onto the tracks during rush hour yesterday morning at Philadelphia’s busy Market East Station, a central hub for 12 of the city’s commuter rail lines.
Calling it a “freak” incident,” Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority spokesperson Andrew Busch told the Daily News that the girl, who had been walking with her parents, somehow managed to slip through the narrow space between the platform and the Manayunk/Norristown Line Regional Rail train.
