PHILADELPHIA — A SEPTA conductor was struck and injured by a train Monday afternoon, causing disruptions on some commuter rail lines.
The male conductor, who was not identified, was hit by a “low-speed train,” an R5 bound for Center City, near the Glenside station about 2:35 p.m., said Andrew Busch, a SEPTA spokesman. Busch said the conductor was near a switch.
Service on the R2 Warminster and the R5 Lansdale/Doylestown rail lines resumed about 3:55 p.m. after an hour-long investigation, Busch said.
The conductor, who was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital, was reported to be conscious and talking.
