PHILADELPHIA — As SEPTA projects a $70 million deficit, the region’s transit agency looks to Philadelphia riders today for comments in two hearings on the proposed $920 million operating budget for fiscal 2005.

Entering SEPTA’s second year of severe budget problems, SEPTA general manager Faye Moore is not proposing fare increases or service cuts to fill the daunting hole. Rather, Moore is deferring action in the hope of state funding relief later this year.

Hearings take place at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. today at the Convention Center, 1101 Arch St., Room 204 in Center City.
