A one-year extension of the Section 45G short-line tax credit was not incorporated into Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (S. 1813), the two-year, $109 billion surface transportation bill the Senate passed last week, according to the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA). The association and its lobbyists will continue working to get the tax credit extended. It expired on Dec. 31, 2011.
