NEW YORK — Signal trouble between Mineola and Queens Village is causing “scattered” 10-15 minute delays on the Long Island Rail Road mainline Tuesday morning, a railroad official said.

The issue has caused delays to trains on the Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson and Oyster Bay branches, railroad spokesman James Castle said Tuesday.

Nine trains were delayed between 8:40 a.m. and 9 a.m., according to Castle. But it remains unclear what caused the problem — or how long the issue will take to repair.

“We’re still investigating the cause,” Castle said.

He said maintenance crews are on scene and hope to have the signals repaired soon.
