CLEVELAND, May 26 — On behalf of the entire BLET, National President Ed Rodzwicz sends condolences to Clyde George of BLET Division 126 (Bakersfield, Calif.), whose son was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq last week. He was a major in the U.S. Army.
“He made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and for that we will be eternally grateful,” President Rodzwicz said.
Tim Smith, Chairman of the California State Legislative Board, said Brother George is Legislative Representative of Division 126. George is a Union Pacific locomotive engineer who joined the BLET in 1989.
“I wish to express our profound sadness and heartfelt condolences to Brother George and his family for this tragic loss,” Smith said. “Please consider offering a prayer on behalf of the George family and their fallen Son… a hero in every right.”
