SEATTLE — Amtrak passenger train service won’t resume through Oregon until at least midweek after a mudslide buried tracks near Klamath Falls on Saturday, a company spokesman said today.
The slide occurred about 12:30 p.m. north of Klamath Falls, said Cliff Cole, an Amtrak spokesman.
Amtrak was arranging bus service to transport passengers traveling on the Coast Starlight line between Los Angeles and Portland around the slide, he said.
The buses will shuttle Amtrak passengers between Klamath Falls and Portland.
