SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Just before 9 a.m. on March 18, 1912, a locomotive boiler exploded at the Southern Pacific roundhouse on North hackberry Street in San Antonio, Texas. Historians call it one of the worst locomotive boiler explosions in the nation’s history.
