CLEVELAND, February 9 — Newly-elected Secretary-Treasurers are advised that space still remains for the upcoming BLET Education & Training Department’s ST Compliance Workshop in Jacksonville, Fla. The course is scheduled for February 28-March 3 at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront hotel.

Registration for the class is on a first come, first served basis. Interested parties are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible because class size is limited to the first 22 who register. To sign up, please use the BLET website: http://www.ble.org/st.

The workshop will be particularly beneficial to first-time Secretary-Treasurers who were just elected during the BLET’s recently completed triennial elections. These newly-elected officers are facing a March 31 deadline for the filing of Department of Labor Reports, and attendance at the workshop will help ensure the reports are filed correctly.

During the four-day session, Secretary-Treasurers will be shown how to use the BLET National Division’s web-based reporting system, which they use monthly for membership reporting and tax compliance.

Attendees will also qualify for a $116 per day stipend from the North American Railway Foundation upon successful completion of the course. The stipends will be paid directly to the Secretary-Treasurer of the respective divisions.

Attendees will be given instructions on how to make their hotel reservations in the confirmation e-mail they will receive once they sign up and are confirmed for the workshop.
