NEWARK, N.J. — Commuters on NJ Transit’s Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Midtown Direct trains faced delays because of a stalled train Wednesday morning.

The train became disabled between New York’s Penn Station and the Hudson River rail tunnel for nearly 20 minutes, a NJ Transit spokesman said.

Engineers were able to restore power, and the train headed into the station on its own. It was not known what caused the engine to stall.
