The Surface Transportation Board (STB) has scheduled an oral argument on Sept. 28 in Washington, D.C., to hear arguments from Arizona Electric Power Cooperative Inc. and BNSF Railway Co. regarding a rate case.
The utility is challenging BNSF’s rates to move coal from New Mexico and the northern part of the Powder River Basin in Wyoming and Montana to a generating station near Cochise, Ariz.
Each party will have 30 minutes to argue its position and respond to questions from board members, “similar to proceedings in federal appellate courts,” according to the STB.
