WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Surface Transportation Board’s current sole Republican member, Vice Chairman Charles D. Nottingham, said he will resign effective March 18 or sooner if the Senate confirms his replacement before then.
Nottingham’s departure had been expected since he announced in October that he was not asking President Obama to appoint him to another term beyond the one that ended Dec. 31. He had been STB chairman from August 2006 until March 2009.
