CLEVELAND, May 14 — The AFL-CIO is urging members and their families to contact their Senators and speak out against the Bush Administration’s tax cut.
This week, U.S. Senators will vote on a tax break worth hundreds of billions of dollars — most of which goes to those at the very top. Across America, funding for key priorities like our kids’ education, healthcare, and environmental protections are being cut back; and unemployment is on the rise. Yet the president and some leaders in the Senate are pushing massive new tax breaks that would be paid for with more cuts to vital programs and our Social Security money.
Call Your Senators today at (888) 280-6279 (paid for by the AFL-CIO) and tell them “No Tax Breaks for Millionaires! Protect our Priorities: Education, Healthcare, the Environment, Social Security, Jobs.”
See below for what to do and talking points to help you with your call.
