NEWARK, N.J. — Storm damage has derailed the commute for thousands of NJ Transit riders.
Service is suspended on the Montclair-Boonton Line and likely will be throughout the morning rush.
There are delays of up to 2 hours on the Morris and Essex, including Midtown Direct from Dover to Gladstone.
NJ Transit spokesman Dan Stessel says the storm knocked down trees, which took out overhead power lines and signals.
NJ Transit, Lakeland and DeCamp buses are cross-honoring rail passes.
Stessel says all other NJ Transit trains are operating normally.
