SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Thanks to Hurricane Katrina, San Antonio has become the end of the line for Amtrak passengers riding the Sunset Limited between Los Angeles and Orlando, Fla.
Amtrak altered the line’s route between the coasts Friday, cutting off the quickest path for passenger train travel between Orlando and San Antonio.
Trains heading from Los Angeles to Orlando won’t go any farther east than San Antonio, and trains heading west to Los Angeles will leave from San Antonio instead of Orlando.
It’s not clear when schedules will return to normal.
