About a third of people killed or injured by subway trains jumped in apparent suicide attempts, reports by state investigators show.

Of the 20 people who were struck by trains from March to June of last year, six launched themselves from the platform to the tracks and one walked off the platform, according to stats from the Public Transportation Safety Board.

The Daily News revealed Tuesday that the MTA is considering placing sliding doors on platform edges to prevent people from jumping, falling or being shoved to the tracks.

In one scenario, manufacturers would install the barriers for free as a pilot program. In exchange, the outfits would get a share of revenues from advertising placed on barriers.
