LOS ANGELES — The Sept. 12, 2008, crash has left many survivors and families of the deceased inexorably scarred. In one of the worst railroad accidents in U.S. history, 21 people from Ventura County and four others were killed and about 100 were injured when a Metrolink commuter train and a Union Pacific freight train collided head-on in Chatsworth. It occurred about 4:22 p.m. on a Friday.
