PITTSBURGH — Police investigated a suspicious item found early Friday on railroad tracks in Chartiers City, Allegheny County.
The discovery was made by personnel of a passing train in an area near Wingap Avenue and Youghiogheny Street.
A train conductor reported sighting a suspiscious device on the tracks, stopped the train and called police.
The Allegheny County Bomb Squad converged on the scene. They found a device that included a glass bottle with copper tubing and gasoline placed atop of two cans of spray paint.
It was removed without incident.
