SUDBURY, Ontario — Ryan Rushton knew the shoe would drop, but that didn’t make it any easier to accept. Rushton, a picket captain for the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference Local 308 in Sudbury, and about a dozen picketers spent Monday afternoon on the line waiting for news they were being legislated back to work.
The group is among 25 CP Rail employees in Sudbury who have been on strike since Wednesday. As disappointed as he was to learn he’d be forced back to work, he was more disappointed when negotiations broke down during the weekend, he said.
