WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Government Printing Office (GPO), the printing facility which produces Congress’ Federal Register, has a new chief, William Boarman. More than 1,000 employees of the GPO are represented by the Graphic Communications Conference (GCC) of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

“We strongly supported the nomination of William Boarman for U.S. Public Printer,” said James P. Hoffa, Teamsters General President. “He has a proven track record of cooperation and achievement in labor-management relations and we believe he will be a strong leader for the workers employed at the GPO.”

In addition to the printing and binding of the Federal Register, the GPO is responsible for all printing projects required by Congress and the departments and establishments of the federal government.

“The increased demands on the GPO, and our members who work there, for larger, faster products will be matched by the experience of Bill Boarman at the helm,” said George Tedeschi, GCC President and Teamsters International Vice President. “Our commitment to quality printing is a value that I know is shared by Bill.”
