CLEVELAND, October 10 — The Teamsters Disaster Relief Fund is accepting applications for assistance from members in the state of Louisiana after Hurricane Gustav damaged homes and property on September 1.

Assistance is available to individuals and households in the following counties who may have experienced a loss due to this disaster:

Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Cameron, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, Sabine, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, Terrebonne, Vermilion, Vernon, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana Parishes, St. Tammany and Tangipahoa.

If you or someone you know needs help, please call the Teamsters Disaster Relief Fund office at: (202) 624-8971. If you were impacted by the hurricane, please download and complete the “Request for Help” form available below. The completed “Request for Help” forms (including all requested documentation) must be returned to the Teamsters by Wednesday, October 15, 2008.

To help increase awareness of this valuable assistance, members who live and work in the affected areas are asked to print and post the following notice at their places of work:
