YAKIMA, Wash. — A new, long-range forecast for the state’s rail traffic predicts the Yakima Valley could see 13 daily freight trains within about two decades. That’s a roughly 50 percent increase from current rail traffic — but a smaller increase than the state as a whole, which is expected to see rail traffic more than double in that time.
