The history of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen will be the focus of a Zoom presentation on Sunday afternoon, August 17.
The IBT Human Rights and Diversity Commission, in conjunction with the Teamsters History Project, hosts a monthly history programs based on Teamster history, the labor movement, and diversity within the Teamsters. Sunday’s segment will feature a presentation by John Bentley, BLET Director of Public Relations and Editor, examining the 162-year history of the BLET. Founded on May 8, 1863, the BLET is the oldest labor union in North America.
The program, presented in Zoom format, will be approximately 90 minutes in length and is open to all. Registration is required to receive the link to join the session.
