SOURIS, Man. — Three men have been taken to hospital after a derailment caused by a cattle truck and train colliding in southwestern Manitoba. The train’s locomotive and seven log cars were derailed by the collision, which occurred at a crossing that featured warning signs, lights and bells.
CN says the warning equipment was working at the time of the impact, just north of the town of Souris near Brandon.
CN spokesman Graham Dallas says the train’s two crew were shaken but uninjured. The driver of the truck wasn’t hurt. All three were taken to hospital for observation. CP
