PEDLEY, Calif. — Three cars of a Union Pacific Railroad train derailed about 8 p.m. Friday in Pedley, officials said.
A Metrolink commuter train was stuck immediately behind the derailment and passengers were forced to find other means of transportation, Metrolink spokeswoman Denise Tyrrell said.
Tyrell did not know the cross streets close to the derailment.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Riverside County Fire Department and BNSF Railway, which directs the railroad police, had no information.
Union Pacific representatives could not be reached Friday.
