CHICAGO — Several Metra trains ran late out of downtown this evening after track-switching problems caused about half-hour travel delays during rush hour.
At least six trains on the Union Pacific North Line to Kenosha and the Union Pacific District Northwest Line to Harvard were delayed starting at about 5 p.m., according to Metra spokesman Tom Miller.
The trains were stopped due to track-switching problems at the Ogilvie Transportation Center, located just west of downtown, but trains began moving again at around 5:30 p.m., Miller said.
Miller did not know the exact amount of trains delayed due to the problem. He did not have further details of the switching problems.
