DENVER — Two sleeper cars derailed Wednesday as a California-bound Amtrak train pulled into the Denver rail yard. There were no reports of injuries.
Crews planned to remove the two cars from the California Zephyr No. 5 so the train could continue to Emeryville, Calif., Amtrak spokeswoman Sarah Swain said. The cars did not tip over.
Swain said she didn’t know the number of passengers or whether anyone was in the cars. The cause of derailment wasn’t immediately known.
The train was due at Union Station in downtown Denver at 7:45 a.m.
