MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A low-speed train collision early this morning sent train crew members to a hospital though their injuries do not appear serious.

Union Pacific spokesman Joe Arbona says four rail cars derailed after an eastbound Union Pacific train arriving from Little Rock, Arkansas, was involved in a low-speed collision with a stopped Burlington Northern Santa Fe train.

Members of the Union Pacific train crew were sent to a hospital for a checkup. Arbona says no one on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train or outside the train was hurt.

Two of the cars which overturned were empty. The other two were carrying non-hazardous products that did not spill.

Union Pacific officials are on scene investigating the incident.
