CHICAGO — A Union Pacific Railroad employee was struck by a train Friday morning, police said.
About 10 a.m., the trainman, who is responsible for inspecting and repairing rail cars, was working in the California Avenue Union Pacific Coach Yard at 423 N. Sacramento Ave. when a train hit him, said Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis.
Police are investigating the incident.
He was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital in stable condition, with injuries that were not life-threatening.
