COLUMBUS, Ohio — The number of people killed in Ohio from trains striking vehicles has tripled, from four in Ohio in 2014 to 12 last year, according to Ohio Operation Lifesaver, a nonprofit rail-safety education organization. The data are based on preliminary statistics from the Federal Railroad Administration and include both vehicle and pedestrian mishaps.
