FAIRFIELD, Ohio — A CSX crew found themselves stranded Thursday when their locomotive ran out of fuel. The train came to a halt about 6 a.m. near the Hamilton/Fairfield border. It ended up blocking Symmes Road and North Gilmore, Fairfield Police Officer Russell Strickland said.

The crew remained with the stopped train. Although the area is heavily traveled, Strickland said he did not receive any complaints from motorists.

A locomotive from Cincinnati was called to pull the train to its final destination.
