MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — A Republican transportation funding bill was tweaked to add money for rail safety as it advanced Monday in the Minnesota House. The measure, which would spend $7 billion in the next decade, is due to be considered by the House Ways and Means Committee on Thursday. And while money was added to rail safety, its backers note that it will not raise taxes.
