BROWARD, Fla. — Tri-Rail has seen its number of riders grow lately, with more than 10,000 riding per day seven times since Oct. 7, the Herald reported.

Most recently, 10,003 people rode Tri-Rail Monday. Ridership overall has increased almost 8 percent from a year before.

Officials say Tri-Rail is proving popular with more travelers who want to avoid traffic and parking costs at international airports in Fort Lauderdale, Miami and West Palm Beach.

Passenger traffic has increased 35 percent at the West Palm Beach Station, 32 percent at the Fort Lauderdale Airport Station and almost 11 percent at the Miami International Airport Station.
