CLEVELAND, July 29 — Triennial elections for BLET Divisions will be held later this year, with nominations being held at each Division’s first regular meeting in September of 2015.
Division Secretary-Treasurers, who serve as election officials for their Divisions, are reminded of the requirement to post Notices of Nominations at all on duty points 30 days in advance of their first meeting in September, which is the meeting at which nominations will be taken. For your convenience, the Notice of Nominations form and all other required forms are available for downloading and printing at the password-protected Secretary-Treasurer area of the BLET National Division website: www.ble-t.org/streport. Hard copies of all these forms also will be mailed to Division Secretary-Treasurers in the coming days.
Earlier this year, Secretary-Treasurers were mailed the 2015 edition of “On the Right Track,” the Local Division nomination and election procedure manual. “On the Right Track” will assist the officers whose job it is to oversee the election process as well as the members who have an interest in running for office. Because determinations of eligibility to run for office may involve an interpretation of the BLET Bylaws, any eligibility questions must be submitted, in writing and via a signed letter, to National President Dennis R. Pierce. Questions involving other nomination and election procedures should be addressed to the Office of the National Secretary-Treasurer.
A username and password must be used for logging into the Members’ Area of the BLET National Division website to download the 2015 edition of “On the Right Track” (PDF). It is available here.
If you are a BLET member and you do not have a username and password, you can sign up for one here.
