CLEVELAND, September 23, 2009 — As the BLET’s 2009 triennial division elections continue to unfold, members are advised of a clarification to the election procedural manual titled “On The Right Track.”
In the Question and Answer section on Page 16 of “On The Right Track,” it should be noted that members cannot nominate themselves for office. According to Article XXII, Section 4 (Page 165) of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters constitution, candidates for office must be nominated “by a member in good standing other than the nominee…”
This clarification supercedes the Q&A section of “On The Right Track.”
