ATLANTA — Tropical Storm Ida has stopped a train in its tracks. On Sunday, Amtrak officials stopped the Crescent in Atlanta. The train was bound for New Orleans after leaving New York City early Sunday morning.

Weather conditions and the pending landfall of Tropical Storm Ida would not allow the train to move forward.

The passengers were notified in New York about the change, but some passengers decided to continue along the route, disembarking in Atlanta to seek alternate transportation along the rest of the route to New Orleans.

The Crescent is scheduled to depart heading back to New York on Tuesday at 8:21 p.m.
