GLENCOE, Minn. — The Twin Cities & Western Railroad Company has promoted Mark J. Wegner to president, effective May 1. Based at the Glencoe, Minn. headquarters of the 229-mile regional railroad, he succeeds William F. Drusch, who has served as president since 2001 and retires after a 38-year career in railroading. Mr. Wegner will also serve as president of Minnesota Prairie Line, Inc., a TC&W affiliate. He has been executive vice president and chief operating officer of the TC&W and MPL since April 2006.

Mr. Wegner has 16 years of rail experience and joined the TC&W in 1991 as accounting manager. He was promoted to TC&W’s comptroller in 1993 and assumed additional responsibilities as senior vice president and general manager of Minnesota Prairie Line in July 2002. He became senior vice president and general manager of the TC&W in November 2003.

Prior to joining the TC&W, Mr. Wegner had been senior accountant at Moore Data, Minneapolis, Minn. A native of Brooklyn Center, Minn., he holds an accounting degree from the College of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn.

The Twin Cites & Western began operations in July 1991 operating between St. Paul, Minn. and Milbank, S.D.

Minnesota Prairie Line operates between Norwood and Hanley Falls, Minn. The Minnesota Valley Regional Railroad Authority owns the track.
