CLEVELAND, December 13 — A Union Pacific train derailed in Pacific, Missouri just before dawn Thursday morning. Two locomotive engineers were pulled from the wreckage and four other train crew members were treated for injuries. One of the engineers is being treated for chest injuries.
There were three trains involved in the accident. All three were carrying loads of coal. No hazardous materials were involved.
The NTSB has begun its investigation. The BLE is sending members of the Safety Task Force to the scene in order to assist with the investigation.
