JONESBORO, Ill. — Union County officials say two Missouri men have been charged with theft for allegedly stealing iron and other metal from the Union Pacific Railroad.
Christopher Copeland, of Deloge (Missouri), and Donald Graham Junior of, Bonne Terre (BON-TAIR)(Missouri), were charged with felony theft. Union County State’s Attorney Allen James says Copeland also has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.
James said yesterday Copeland has been under investigation by the railroad for allegedly being involved in a scheme to steal scrap metal from the railroad.
James says the two men were arrested last week in Union County but the alleged theft occurred in nearby Jackson County.
