HURON, Ohio — Two engines of a train slipped off the tracks Wednesday afternoon on Sprowl Road, just outside of the city near Glidden Paint Co.

No hazardous materials were on the train, and the incident caused no damage.

“It was an incredibly minor situation,” Norfolk Southern spokesman Rudy Husband. “It was one wheel on one engine and two wheels on the second engine. It was taken care of quickly.”

Erie County Sheriff’s Capt. Paul Sigsworth said deputies noted the incident in their call log, but it didn’t warrant further investigation.
