NEW YORK — Union Pacific Corp.’s profit topped analysts’ estimates as a strengthening U.S. economy and growing construction market boosted traffic on the rails in the fourth quarter. The railroad has benefited most from the rebound of U.S. consumer demand and homebuilding, posting the largest increase in carloads in the quarter among the four biggest U.S. railroads, according to the Association of American Railroads.
