LAS VEGAS — The Union Pacific Railroad has decided to step in and do what they can to help a group of students who walk to high school near railroad tracks. Students are crossing the tracks to get to Desert Oasis High School.
Parents say it’s not the safest route, but the alternative is their students have to walk to Blue Diamond Road, miles out of the way.
Now Union Pacific has offered to build a one-mile, eight foot high fence costing the company $250,000. The railroad is looking to keep the students away from the tracks. The fence could be completed in about two months.
