GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Crews fought gusty winds, near three-figure temperatures and lightning Monday while holding the Pine Ridge Fire to 13,360 acres and keeping it from jumping Interstate 70. On-the-ground crews had help from the railroad as well as helicopters over the weekend. The Union Pacific Railroad, which has tracks through De Beque Canyon where the fire is burning, helped out with equipment and water transportation to the fire lines.
