OMAHA, Neb. — Union Pacific Railroad has donated $10,000 to the food bank that serves northeast Kansas and the Kansas City area.
Cameron Scott, who oversees Union Pacific’s operations in the area, says the railroad has always tried to help the communities where it operates.
Karen Haren, CEO of the Harvesters food bank, says the donation from the Omaha-based railroad comes at a crucial time because the number of people seeking help is growing.
The $10,000 donation will provide the rough equivalent of 50,000 meals.
