OMAHA, Neb. — Union Pacific Railroad is enhancing Colorado’s transportation infrastructure by investing $7.5 million in the rail line that runs between the Colorado/Kansas border and Deer Trail. The project is in progress and is scheduled to be completed by the end of December. The project includes replacing rail in various locations on the main line, renewing the surfaces at 22 road crossings and replacing five switches, the devices that guide a train from one track to another.
