OMAHA, Neb. — Union Pacific spend $1.23 million lobbying the federal government in the first quarter of 2011. The company lobbied on issues such as railroad regulations, pollution rules, and the U.S. budget. It represents an increase over the $1.16 million it spent lobbying in the fourth quarter of 2010, but down when compared to the $1.67 million spent lobbying in the first quarter of 2010.
