SAN ANGELO, Texas — Union Pacific said that it will adjust the signal system at the train crossing in Midland, Texas, where a parade float crossed into the path of an oncoming freight train, killing four veterans. According to the San Antonio Express News, 20 seconds of warning time is given at grade crossings, which is the industry standard. The newspaper reports that the railroad is expected to increase that time.
