OMAHA, Neb. — Union Pacific said Thursday that it plans to reduce 2016 capital spending by $550 million, to $3.75 billion. The Omaha-based railroad first said cuts were coming last month when it announced fourth-quarter and full-year earnings that included falling freight shipments from customers.
