OMAHA, Neb. — Union Pacific Railroad is enhancing Kansas’ transportation infrastructure by investing more than $9 million in the rail line that runs between Menoken and Junction City. The project is in progress and is scheduled to be completed by mid December. The project includes replacing nearly 68,000 ties, spreading 29,600 tons of rock ballast to help provide a more stable roadbed and renewing the surfaces at 114 road crossings.
